In the age of the pandemic, online meetings and virtual conferences became the new normal. While convenient, they lacked the personal touch and depth of connection that can only be achieved through face-to-face interactions. However, I recently attended Connect Day 2023 in sunny Vienna, Austria, and it was a refreshing reminder of the power and value of in-person meetings.

Connect Day brought together a diverse group of individuals, including entrepreneurs, startup founders, representatives from companies, and local government organizations from Austria to Israel and Australia. It served as a matchmaking event for startups, corporates/SMEs, and investors, facilitating valuable connections and opportunities for collaboration. Meeting in person allowed us to engage in meaningful conversations, exchange ideas, and establish genuine connections that can lay the foundation for future partnerships.

Passionate individuals and organizations converged with a shared goal: to create value. The air was buzzing with excitement as startups sought funding, corporates explored innovative products and services, and investors sought the next big opportunity. With over 800 attendees, this collective drive to make a difference created a dynamic and inspiring atmosphere that fostered collaboration and innovation.

It was in these genuine connections that the foundation for fruitful collaborations was laid. Sharing a conversation over a cup of coffee or exploring common interests in person brought a level of depth and richness that virtual interactions simply cannot replicate. For example, I had the pleasure of meeting Gerlinde from the Austrian Business Agency (ABA) for the fourth time and discovered that she used to live in Linz, sharing stories of our favourite Italian restaurant in the main square that we always visit when travelling to Germany.

During the event, I had several scheduled meetings, including one with the Digital Innovation Teamlead from Semperit AG. Although these meetings were scheduled for 15 minutes, it was enough time to showcase the value that anet360 can bring to a company with over 6,000 employees across 16 locations worldwide.

In a world where digital interactions have become the norm, Connect Day 2023 provided a refreshing and invigorating experience. It demonstrated the power of face-to-face connections, the value of networking, and the importance of collaboration. By embracing these opportunities and actively seeking out in-person interactions, we can forge deeper relationships, foster innovation, and create value that extends beyond the confines of the virtual realm. Let us seize the chance to connect, collaborate, and make a lasting impact on the entrepreneurial landscape.

Together, we can build a brighter future for all.
