From kitchen porter to global brands: the journey behind our new Safe Rider training app

There’s a common misconception about what it takes to build something from scratch. Many think it’s a straightforward, linear process, but the reality is far more complex. My journey — from working as a kitchen porter, not speaking a word of English, to developing a product now used by global brands like Mercedes-Benz, Harrods, and the Vienna Transport Authority — proves that building something meaningful requires more than just hard work. It demands unwavering commitment, resilience, and the ability to adapt.

Starting a business is never easy, but building cutting-edge technology without any external investment takes things to a whole new level. It demands blood, sweat, and tears — literally. To beat the odds, you have to be at your best — physically, mentally, and emotionally. There’s no shortcut. You need discipline, the ability to learn quickly, and an unshakable belief in what you’re doing. Without these, the journey can easily become overwhelming.

The challenge is that you never really know what will happen. You have an idea of what you want to achieve, but there’s no guarantee those things will come to fruition. It’s a bit like raising a child: you work on it day after day, trying to give them the best foundation, hoping that in 10 or 20 years, they’ll become the person you envisioned.

Nearly four years ago, we set out with a simple goal: to improve road safety. In 2020, we launched the first-of-its-kind Virtual Reality Safe Urban Driving Training. This wasn’t just an experiment—it was a strategic bet on the future of driver education. Fast forward to today, with over 6,000 drivers trained, it’s safe to say we made the right decision.

Now, we are proud to announce the launch of Version 3.0 of our product. While it may seem like just another update to some, it holds much deeper significance for us. This version reflects the growing demand for our solution and the increasing need for innovative, easy-to-use tools that help professional drivers upskill, improve their digital skills, and embrace new learning methods.

Why is this launch so significant for us? Because it reaffirms that what we’re building is not only valuable but essential. Our product is trusted by customers across the UK, Northern Ireland, and Austria, helping companies deliver better learning tools to their teams. The release of Version 3.0 is a testament to our ongoing commitment to providing flexibility, simplicity, and impact in everything we do.

None of this would have been possible without a dedicated team, supportive advisors, and the people who believed in the product and the journey. Building something that matters is about more than just hitting targets — it’s about enduring the emotional highs and lows, learning from each setback, and constantly improving. This process teaches you how to navigate challenges and, most importantly, how to recover quickly.

It’s been a challenging yet incredibly rewarding journey, and as we launch Version 3.0, we’re more committed than ever to driving innovation and making a positive impact in the industry. The lessons learned along the way have shaped us into who we are today — resilient, focused, and ready for what’s next.

As we look to the future, we’re excited about the opportunities ahead and the chance to continue working with our clients to solve real-world challenges. Together, we’ll keep pushing boundaries, setting new standards, and creating solutions that not only meet but exceed expectations.

Here’s to the next chapter, and to everyone who has been part of the journey — thank you for believing in what we do.
